PROBLEM #1
Let's start with an easy one to get the basics down.
UNKNOWN LOCATION, MAY 21
Locate the sun at 1400 hours (2pm) and answer the following...
- What is the Azimuth?
- What is the Altitude?
- List three possibilities for describing the Azimuth (hint: from North, from the South and from the chart)
- Is this location in the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere?
The next three questions are not about the sun at 2pm...
- What time is sunrise?
- What time is sunset?
- From this chart, are you able to determine when Civil Twilight ends?
Twilight Defitions
Civil:
Sun is between 0 and 6 degrees below the horizon
Nautical:
Sun is between 6 and 12 degrees below the horizon
Astronomical:
Sun is between 12 and 18 degrees below the horizon
